FIELD SERVICE TECH II

Location: Travel-Based (95% Domestic Travel Required)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site support for the commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. This role is critical to ensuring system performance, reliability, and proper documentation at client job sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission mechanical systems and assist with electrical and controls integration.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and control systems on-site.
• Produce accurate red-line drawings and detailed service documentation.
• Gather and transmit Operations & Maintenance (O&M) data during all project phases.
• Support development of Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) manuals.
• Perform or oversee quality control inspections of installed systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, QA teams, and clients.
• Assist in training in-house or field personnel as needed.

Requirements:

• HVAC trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent military/technical training preferred.
• Strong hands-on field experience in commissioning, mechanical/electrical systems, or service work.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, ASME, and related industry standards.
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to at least one PLC or BAS platform.
• Must be self-directed and capable of working independently at remote U.S. job sites.
• Able to travel extensively (up to 95%) throughout the United States.
• Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 and NFPA-70E certifications.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Education & Training:

• Preferably completed HVAC Trade school and/or apprenticeship training.
• Military training and/or relevant technical work experience can be considered as a substitute for trade school certification.

Work Environment:

• Field-based with physical demands such as lifting (up to 10 lbs), crouching, and repetitive movement.
• Visual acuity required for reading schematics and preparing documentation.
